How To Get A Clean House.

Invite your grandparents over for afternoon tea... Then spend the following three hours before they arrive furiously cleaning. Alternatively you can replace grandparents with friends or other relatives.

This was the trick I used to ensure I actually stuck to the task at hand last week. And let me tell you it works.

Do you have any tips to keep your up your motivation when having to do boring jobs, like cleaning, folding clothes, ironing etc? Or are you goddess like in the house cleaning department and breeze through all tasks with ease??

  4. My house is never cleaner then with the knowledge of impending arrival of guests! Great way to spur me in to action :) Might add too its why I loathe the unexpected drop in because my house will no doubt still be a mess!

  5. No domestic goddess but I can suggest ironing or folding clothes in front of the tv.

  6. I too can move through the house like a cheetah when company is on the way but struggle to keep the momentum up on a daily basis. I've started to tackle a room at a time so it's not so overwhelming and bought some microfibre cloths to dust with. But I am far from being a domestic goddess (despite what my tea cup says0. I bought the Speed Cleaning book and got al excited...but it didn't last. Clutter buckets are a great idea though.....
