Party Planner: Cars 2 Party for Caden

Caden is turning 5 next month and has requested a Cars 2 party. No surprises there as he is in love with anything Cars related (or Disney really).

We scored a really good deal on a Cars themed jumping castle for the day.

We have printed our own Cars invitations to keep the costs down.

I also have some paper carry bags that I will be using for the party bags and we are going to decorate them with Cars stickers. I am not 100% sure of what is going to go into the party bags, but I know it wont be tonnes of lollies. Depending on the party size I might put in a small crayon or pencil roll each. The girls can also have some head bands too.

Caden has also requested that his friends play pretend fishing at his party. So we will have the small claim shell set up with these 'fishing packs' we picked p from the reject shop for $4.

The one thing I really have no idea what to do with is the cake. Caden has requested a Tow Mater cake... I am petrified of that one. I have no idea how I would do it or what I will use for it. Do you have any ideas for me? Have you perhaps made a Mater cake before?? Please someone say yes! I need all the help I can get with this one.

What do you do for your kids birthdays?

  1. If it was me, I'd be making a "road" cake maybe in the shape of a 5 and putting a toy Mater on the top along with road signs and a Lightning McQueen maybe... Otherwise google mater birthday cake and select images and see what other inspiration you can find. There'll be plenty no doubt! The cake always stresses me out too! Look forward to seeing how you go!

  2. I was going to say the same as Emma - put a Mater figurine/toy on the cake...I think that's what I'm going to do for Hunter - but his will be swampfire (from Ben 10).

I've just made a practice cape for Hunter's scary super hero party! I plan on having a cape for each child (I made this one out of shower curtains).....
